Wow, it’s Friday again which means I’m doing check in on The Chicken, getting all fluent with myself and others, sharing how aware (or not) we are of the events, people and opportunities the universe presents to us based on our focus and desires. Talking about the hard and the good.

And I’m sharing Random Notes from My Desk with you.

CELEBRATE! It’s Friday, ya’ll.

Three-fourths of this wonderful month of January is gone. Just poof. Vanished into the time, space continuum.

And the plan for those three weeks didn’t come to fruition, although…it bore a different kind of fruit.

Ain’t that just how it goes. You expect X, possibly Y, maybe even a little Z and you get L.

Yeah, exactly, how in the world did you get all the way from X to L? Was it poor planning, poor implementation and execution or were the expectations wrong all along?

And does it really matter? In the end, does it?

The expectations were X, possibly Y and a little bit of Z, and damnit expectations matter. Feelings like - frustration, anger, annoyance, failure over not getting X, some Y or some Z, are going to show up. Feel them.

Allow them to be what they are, because crap, you needed, counted on and wanted those things. Now you don’t have them instead you have this middle letter L!

What can you do with L? What is L good for? Or are you going to stay all mad because you didn’t get X, Y or Z?

It’s all a matter of perspective. Really does the sun get mad when the clouds cover her up? If the sun had feelings (and I don’t know that she doesn’t. I don’t know that she’s a she either but…yeah anyway)

Do something with L. It’s what you’ve got.

Nah there was no note on the desk this week precipitating the above. In fact this week, there were no notes at all. You’re seeing my L.

What are you doing with yours?

And no matter whether you do a Chicken check-in or not, random events, people and opportunities are showing up in your life that aren’t really random at all – CELEBRATE THEM!

And I’m sharing Random Notes from My Desk with you.

CELEBRATE! It’s Friday, ya’ll.

If you’re looking, you’ll notice I’ve been on again off again since Christmas. I am currently working on getting ahead of myself, ie – creating a posting schedule, writing things in advance (oh my god advance, like before they are actually due to be posted, like planning stuff and giving myself time to edit it.) – Yeah, just like that, like a professional.

So I just wanted to let you know…

And no matter whether you do a Chicken check-in or not, random events, people and opportunities are showing up in your life that aren’t really random at all – CELEBRATE THEM!

*This used to be called “All That Seems Random Fridays” and now they are Random Notes from my Desk. The spirit of random is still imbued within.

Wow, it’s Friday again which means I’m doing check in on The Chicken, getting all fluent with myself and others, sharing how aware (or not) we are of the events, people and opportunities the universe presents to us based on our focus and desires.

And I’m sharing Random Notes from My Desk with you.

CELEBRATE! It’s Friday, ya’ll.

We respond based on context and some learned habits of automatic response. I got to notice and practice forming new habits in various ways and on different levels this week.

One way was in an email exchange. My usual response if I am misunderstood – get snarky and defensive. Not really a good way to be understood is it?

Randon Note: Process behind the scenes…am I making it harder [to be understood] than it has to be?

The second way showed up while doing keyword research as part of Phase 2 in my internship. Yay! for internships and constructive criticism.

Yet another showed up in my mastermind group, where the discussion centered around how one thing was better than the other thing. And how all the experts were shocked by the mention of the other thing and threw shoes all out of context.

Random note: You have to remind yourself how to think and who you are thinking “like”/”for”.

It helps to make our communication clear. It helps us make better decisions and provide valid and valuable feedback. It helps stop or limit the shoe throwing.

Paul Myers said in his latest newsletter message:

“Your responsibility is for the message…You should always try to be aware of any unusual degree of influence you might have with your audience, and avoid directing them toward actions that could lead to harm…It is not your fault if they screw up, and you don’t get the credit if they succeed either.”

Paul is talking about the responsibility inherent in sharing your message and doing so in your authentic voice as part of his series on finding your voice.

Wow, it’s Friday again which means it’s time for All That Seems Random Fridays, where we share how aware (or not) we are of the events, people and opportunities the universe has presented to us based on our focus and desires.

Because we need to CELEBRATE them.

And I do on Celebrate, but when I’m honest with myself, I’m only being a poor imitation of Havi Brooks. I stole borrowed the idea from her anyway and while it never really became my own it did help me build some consistency muscle.

That’s what I needed.

I’ll Chicken there.

Here will be Random Notes from the Desk like:

Jim Rohn quotes. Rest In Peace Mr. Rohn and thank you for introducing me to a more rounded perspective on business and personal success:

“Profits are better than wages.”

You can start part-time working on your fortune while you’re working full-time on your living.

Your income is directly related to your philosophy, not to the economy.

Miller’s Law as shared in “How to Disagree Without Being Disagreeable” by Suzette Haden Elgin:

“In order to understand what another person is saying, you must assume that it is true and try to imagine what it might be true of.” pg 66

From Paul Myers’ latest email newsletter:

“Stop trying to be anything, and they’ll see you for what you really are.”

That’s it for me, what random events, people and opportunities are showing up in your life, that aren’t really random at all?
